Notes: In honor of the show’s recent closing, here is a capture of the Broadway cast from last fall. The cast has a great energy and the show is a ton of fun. There is one head that obstructs the front/center of the stage; it’s worked around as much as possible, but it does occasionally block the action. The entr’acte and the first 30 seconds of Under Attack is missing at the beginning of act two. Other than that, there are a couple quick dropouts, but no major blackouts. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call, the first two encore songs, and playbill scans.

Notes: As generally circulated, this video is missing most of the first part of the "Old Friends" scene, a chunk at the beginning of Act Two (after a few seconds of the entr'acte, it jumps to a point after the end of "It's a Hit!"), and part of "Opening Doors." It's unknown whether these were not shot or if they were deleted from circulating copies. This video is in the Theatre on Film and Tape (TOFT) collection of the Library of the Performing Arts in New York, though it wasn't shot for the collection.
The first two screenshots are from an "upgraded" version, though the image resolution is smaller and the picture has been stretched too wide. It appears that noise reduction has been applied to smooth out the image. Compare with the second two screenshots from the "un-upgraded" version where details such as the wrinkles on clothing are sharper, the image resolution is higher, and the aspect ratio is correct.

The first 30 or so minutes in Act 2 are missing due to camera issues so it's just audio unfortunately. The video starts again at "Good Thing Going". There is a lady in front of me with a really large ugly hat in Act 1.This blocks most action dead center stage but is worked around as well as possible. Act 2 is a little better because the hat is not on her head. Overall not the best video but it's watchable especially if you watch the edited version. This cast was fantastic.

Notes: This was the second to last performance on Broadway and the last performance open to the public. The energy from the cast and audience is palpable. There are entrance applauses for everyone, as well as for some of the greatest lines in the show, and a standing ovation for Seize the Day before the first act was even over. Definitely a must-see for any fan of the show. Act one has a few issues, but act two is much better. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

This was filmed very early in previews and features John Beasley (who left the show early in previews). It's a full stage shot which is framed up really nicely most of the show. There is washout and about 15 minutes early in Act One where the camera was aimed a bit high and caught the upper level of the stage. Not all the action is missed during this time, but the majority is. Great audio throughout, however.

Notes: Video picks up part way through the opening number but there's a lot of wandering for the first five or so minutes. Second act starts at the beginning of the dream ballet and ends at curtain call. The lighting in this show is kinda weird and my camera had some trouble focusing, especially in the super dark/light scenes. There’s one usher dropout during Kansas City that lasts for about a minute. There’s also about 10 minutes split between 2 scenes where the entire stage is completely dark (don’t worry you aren’t missing anything).

Notes: Blind lapshot with no zooms, and there are frequently two heads in the way, and the angle is occasionally lopsided slightly. Other issues: Curly being out of the shot for most of The Surrey With The Fringe On Top; shakiness and my hands/playbill being visible during applause breaks because I had to clap; head obstruction during I Cain't Say No; some floorshots during Dream Ballet; mic feedback during louder parts; and random bits where I was focusing on the wrong thing/person due to shooting blind. There's also some parts where the audio cuts off for a second, doesn't perfectly align with the frames, or the video freezes or goes dark while the audio keeps playing. Neither of these glitches last for more than a second, but still must be noted.

Notes: A great capture of this rarely performed musical with emotional performances from the entire cast. There is no washout and just a couple quick dropouts. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. The show is one act on one disc. This show was... interesting. Let's just say there were choices made. Choices fans of the show might not agree with. There was an addition of latin-dance music that opened and closed the show, which seemed to be set in New Orleans, for some reason? Standout performances from young TiMoune, and decent vocals from TiMoune. Hoping the rest of the performances were shaky cuz it was the first public performance and started over an hour late due to the orchestra pit losing power before the show. Notes: A fantastic capture of this one-night-only concert at Avery Fisher Hall. Jeremy and Laura give incredible performances, as does Joshua Henry and too many others to name. Jason Robert Brown gives a speech after the curtain call. Truly an epic night of theatre. This is a very near perfect video with no obstruction and only slight washout in wide shots. There are two quick dropouts in the first few minutes, but the concert is otherwise fully captured. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call, Jason’s speech, and playbill scans.

One 15 second blackout near the end of Act 1 where an actor sitting in a box abruptly stood up and started singing (it scared the master). The end of Act 2 is a bit dark for about a minute, but lightens up before the major action. While all action is captured, actors on the lowest level of the stage are occasionally chopped at the waist due to the mezz railing.

Another spy pen video, so know there is a good deal of washout, and it’s entirely blindshot. You’ll barely see the left side of stage, and the center through left downstage. Second “level” of the set seldom seen. You can see a head with hair on the left side (and center at times). Sound a bit muffled somehow despite being in the second row, so turn up that volume and keep a close eye on it (ESPECIALLY FOR ACT 2). Due to not having a proper audio recording for Act 2, I used the crummy spy pen audio with some edits (did the best I could) for dialogue, and any song including Washington Henry, as he was an understudy this performance. Otherwise, I used audio from my May recording. I do clap. And when I do, it’s quite disorienting. The choreo of Camptown Races; pretty much all of You Have Had My Heart, Angelina’s reprise of I’m Comin’, the Irish Step portion of Turn My Life Around, and most of I’d be a Soldier is not visible due to being seated very close to the stage, right orchestra. Some camera futzing during dialogue of Bright Lookout. Latecomers arrive right in front of me about ten minutes in. Washington’s entrance/start of I’m Comin’ isn’t really able to be seen since no one positioned in the middle/stage left. Cut at the beginning of Why Should I Die in Springtime is a tad rough. Long blackout just before/most of Breathe Easy/A&WH reunion. The Heaven Save Our Home reprise is a bit out of sync. As always,

Notes: MP4 format. Please list as July 2022 (2), even though we all know the real date. Primarily blindshot and with wide shots, as I focus more on capturing the whole over zooming on just the main action, also zooms are difficult with blindshots. On occasion, my angle is so high that I get none of the action (ex. when Washington and Owen first arrive at the bar, and the vast majority of Camptown Races), but not so bad that it’s a ceiling shot. Brief dropout during Tomorrow’s Never Guaranteed. LONG dropout during the finale since I swore I heard someone say “you shouldn’t be doing that”, and I got worried. Turns out it was likely to my friend next to me, and said friend technically did the filming of the post-show speech. Literally everyone was beyond their A game. These wonderful humans deserved so much more. SO MUCH APPLAUSE AND HOLLERING. Washout, though mouths can almost always be made out, some camera wandering, and brief blackout at the very beginning or I’m Coming. There's a few adlibs, most notably AJ's call/response riff during the feis. And the rest of the cast did their best on that one, but you can hear the fumbling. Solid 2 minutes of applause during curtain call cut, leading into the ending speech instead. Audio sync is a tad off in Act 1, but you can only truly notice if you are looking out for a non-perfect sync or know the show insanely well. My camera decided to set its fixed aperture multiple stops higher on its own, so there's some spotlight washout. Gorgeous visual quality otherwise. External audio patched in, sync may be a little bit off. Please don't upload this to YouTube or anywhere else! Notes: Gift upon request. Unobstructed closing performance with the full cast! Starts in the beginning of "Changing Lives" and is a little washed out. For whatever reason my camera was mad at me and didn't want to focus in the beginning of Act One. It warmed up and got better, and to be honest I opted for wider shots because everyone was doing crazy things and I didn't want to miss anything. I stood up for all but one of the standing ovations and when I did so I have no idea what my camera did or what it was looking at. I would say sorry but it wouldn't be true. I'm just so damn proud of all of these people. Please do not post this bootleg publicly!
