Notes: Second show for Derek and our two newly promoted principals! Derek seems more settled in and less rushed/nervous. It seemed they were down a male ensemble member, so some of the numbers were changed slightly (no flying Christian during Bad Romance, for example), but I don't believe it changes the audio much, if at all. Recorded from the can-can, so there's times you can hear the actors interacting with us (including Eric telling us to 'climb on up' for a drink during Shut Up and Raise Your Glass). The people to the left of me would NOT stop talking through the first act, the girl to the right of me spent the entire second act sighing loudly and a guy fully puked in the row behind me at the end of Nature Boy. How much of that got picked up? I don't know, but I really apologize for that (especially the guy puking). Notes: Aaron did an incredible job as the duke! I was sold from his first entrance. And the EMOTION Derek Klena put into this performance blew me away. Ashley was incredible, and her and Derek had such great chemistry! Bobby was an awesome Toulouse, and Julius was hilarious as Santiago. The audience was a bit of a mixed bag though. Apparently Satine wasn’t the only one with consumption because so many people were coughing. There were also some really annoying people who kept crinkling bags throughout act 1, and others who weren’t considerate enough to turn off their phones. But there were also a lot of audience members who were really enthusiastic, and they had some great reactions to the show and the songs they recognized! Overall a really awesome performance!

Pretty good audio overall, most singing and dialogue is clear, applause might be loud occasionally as well as my laughter at jokes.
